Job Description
The Project Manager drives, leads and manages a project within the specified time, budget and quality
framework to the satisfaction of the customers, ensuring economic success for the company and
profitability of the product over lifetime.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Define project goals (financial, scheduling and quality goals)
  • Selecting project core team members in conjunction with the line management
  • Establish adequate project organization (meeting structure, information/ knowledge exchange,
    documentation, archiving)
  • Setup an initial project plan in accordance with the BU’s valid processes (phases, deliverables,
    milestones/ QGates, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance to the BU’s processes
  • Track the project progress, define corrective measures if deviating from the plan
  • Control the usage of the released project budget and project resources per approved project plan
  • Report the project status in accordance with the valid tool and process set
  • Install and perform professional change management
  • Perform risk assessments

    Additional Responsibilities:
  • Representation of project in customer meetings
  • Representation of project interests in supplier meetings
  • Based on professional, well documented change management negotiate changes and claims with the customer and with suppliers
  • Protect confidentiality of project data

  • Actively manage stakeholder expectations, inform and involve stakeholders on a regular basis and in
    an appropriate manner
  • Assign work packages to project team members
  • Help build up a supportive culture of cooperation and team work with the project

    Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or other related discipline
  • 7 years of experience within the automotive industry (10 Preferred)
  • 3+ years in project management or lead role
  • Experience in design of automotive products and functions
  • Strong Knowledge of automotive vehicles, sub systems and products
  • Strong knowledge of automotive Quality systems and processes
  • Travel 25%

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters’ degree in engineering or relevant technical discipline
  • 5+ years of automotive project management experience and PMP certification
  • Experience with Hybrid and Electrical Vehicles, sub-systems and products

    Additional information from client:
    Specifically, looking for someone with extensive automotive experience. The candidate should have a strong background that demonstrates a financial/quality/ budget conscious approach.


    The candidate’s experience will dictate the salary offered by our client. If the candidate. This salary range is from 110k-130k. Other benefits are:


    11-22% annual bonus, 6% 401k match, 14 holidays, 17 PTO days, and health benefits.


    Currently, this position is remote, but may require a visit to office or customers for meetings. The
    client will be flexible with work schedule. The client is in Auburn Hills, and is an automotive company.
