CEO Markeith Weldon among Detroit’s Inaugural graduating class, elected as Valedictorian and featured in national media alongside prestigious business and political leaders

The company’s CEO Markeith Weldon was among more than 60 Detroit and Southeast Michigan small business owners to participate in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program, aimed at helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses and create jobs.

Weldon was part of Detroit’s inaugural graduating class of the Goldman Sachs initiative, launched in November 2013 with a commitment of $20 million for small business loans, business education and grants for supporting community partners.
Weldon was elected as the Valedictorian and speaker of his graduating class, and as such sat beside Goldman Sachs Chairman and CEO Lloyd Blankfein, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett and 10,000 Small Businesses Advisory Council Co-Chairs Warren Buffett, Michael R. Bloomberg and Dr. Michael Porter, who all attended the ceremony. VisionIT President Christine Rice also attended the event.
Also featured on MSNBC’s Morning Joe program, Weldon was asked what the program has meant for his business, saying “We’ve already seen tremendous impact from the 10,000 Small Business program. We now have a growth plan in place that has allowed us to expand our IT managed services offering, and anticipate doubling our revenues and staff next year.”

Across the United States, initial results of the 10,000 Small Business program have shown that just six months after graduation, 64 percent of participants reported an increase in their revenues and 45 percent reported creating net new jobs.
